EyeLash Extensions FAQ

What are EyeLash Extensions?

EyeLash Extensions are a glamorous new  way to  extend the length and thickness of  natural eyelashes,  and are a practical,  convenient and beautiful  alternative  to  the daily use of mascara.  In classic lashing, each tapered, synthetic lash is bonded to a single   natural  lash, while the final result is of effortless  glamor and difficult to detect even close up.  Your stylist will assess  your natural lashes and  recommend extensions best  suited for your lashes while styling them according to  your desires of thickness, curl, length and volume!  Yes this is an actual client!

How long do they really last?

When properly applied, lash extensions can be worn throughout the year with minimal maintenance. Touch-ups are recommended after the initial full set application to refill any lashes that have cycled out. To maintain the full, thick appearance of a new set of lashes a visit to your beauty/lash professional is recommended every 2-3 weeks based on your own natural lash growth cycle.

Can Lash Extensions harm natural lashes?

When applied properly, lash extensions will not harm natural lashes. The proper application technique mandates that each lash extension (singles or volume fans) be individually adhered without "sticking" to other lashes, which can interrupt the natural lash growth cycle.   The meticulous technique allows natural lashes to grow and thrive with extensions.

Can mascara be used with Lash Extensions?

Mascara is typically not needed with lash extensions. Mascara should only be used when a touch-up is drawing near. Water-soluble mascara can be worn; however constant use of mascara may shorten the lifespan of lashes. Waterproof mascara should not be used, as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes. Please discuss any questions you may have about mascara, skin care products, eyeliner, etc. with your lash stylists.

Once applied, what is the proper way to care for EyeLash Extensions?

It is important to nightly wash/clean lash extensions to maximize their longevity. Use lint free wands to clean close to the lash line and a lash wand (mascara spoolies) to comb the lashes free of tangles is also recommended.

If I don't want my extensions on anymore, can I remove them myself?

Absolutely NOT.  You must seek a lash professional if you want to remove your lashes safely.  Your lash stylist will utilize a liquid remover designed to remove your lash extensions safely and effectively.  A lash removal session should take 15-30 minutes.
